I am from the southeastern United States. I hold a BA in history from the University of Virginia and an MA in Latin American Studies from Tulane University. Before coming to China, I taught foreign languages in the United States and lived abroad for several years.

Ellzabeth（Betty）Jobb
My name is Elizabeth Jobb. Usually I am called Betty. I came to Qingdao WECL from Canada at the beginning of March. In my home country I taught in elementary school for 30 years. After retiring, I taught adults part time at the local community college. I also taught a university class to Teacher Education students. During my career, I had experience teaching English as a Second Language to Cree Indian children and also as a volunteer teaching two adults from southern China—now living in my country.At Qingdao WECL I am teaching the QP-beginning level, to day students and night students. I am also the DTA. Therefore, I have other duties, for example, assisting other teachers and acting as a liason between the college administration and teachers.
