FACT SHEET FOR WECL ENGLISH EDUCATION

Program:A total English immersion program, teaching North American English.

Courses: English （ESL） , Grammar, Reading , Writing, Business English,World Cultures （Geography/History） , World Affairs /Global Issues .
All classes are taught in English only . The goal of the program is to graduate students who can communicate confidently in English in any situation. In addition to classroom activities the schools have a full program of co-curricular activities to which teachers are expected to contribute. All teaching materials are provided.

Locations:Qingdao WECL （ Qingdao , Shandong Province）
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are a native English speaker from US or Canada plus a Bachelor Degree （ or a college diploma plus a TEFL certificate）. Teachers with higher degrees, more work experience are paid at a higher level.

Commitment:
REGULAR PROGRAM : Normal school year from September to June
We offer 1 year （10 month） and 2 year （22 month） contracts. One semester （5 - month） contracts available also to qualified candidates.
SUMMER PROGRAM : From the second Monday of July 9 to the second Friday of August （ 1 week orientation and 4 week teaching）.
Salary: Ranges from 4,000 RMB for Instructors to 5,000 RMB for Senior Teachers . Recent graduates with no work experience are paid less.
（This salary is high by Chinese standards and is more than adequate to live on , save some money and travel while in China .）
Air fare allowance: 10,000 RMB for one year or longer contract.
5,000 RMB for 5 month contract
SUMMER PROGRAM: No Airfare or visa assistance but salary and accommodation is provided.
Visas and work permits: We provide assistance in obtaining the proper visa , licenses and residence permit that permit the candidate to work in China . Visa fees : Paid by teacher.
Medical: Basic medical care allowance for routine visits to the doctor but candidate must provide own insurance for major emergencies.
Accommodation: Paid by the employer with limited utilities covered.
Facilities vary from comfortable hotel-type teacher residences to private furnished apartments with western facilities
Working hours: Maximum classes 20 per week with 2 hours homework duty.
Vacation: All major Chin ese holidays and Christmas , New Year and Good Friday .
In addition schools close for 4 weeks for Chinese New Year break. Salary continues for all vacation periods. Two year contract includes paid summer vacation.
Travel assistance: All the office staff and teacher assistants speak English and Chinese and provide assistance with travel arrangements and teaching support.

Management: Academic program managed by experienced Canadian and American teachers. All schools have bilingual office staff/ teacher assistants.

Free Chinese lesson: WECL offers same level 2 free Chinese language class per week for WECL teachers.
